TITLE: Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Pediatric Consultant (IECMH-C)
REPORTS TO: Senior IECMH-C
HOURS: Full-time, Non-Exempt (This position is benefits eligible)
JOB SUMMARY: Provides IECMH Consultation at a Rochester based pediatric practice that serves children in foster care. This position involves providing IECMH consultation/short-term assessment, clinical support, and referrals regarding identified infants and young children (ages 0 to 6), their families, and caregivers. Additionally, this position creates, administers, and supports other professionals in IECMH informed practices through education, coaching and consulting with pediatric clinic staff.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $26.00-$28.50
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide in-clinic IECMH consultation to Pediatric Clinic patients, their families, providers, and staff.
- Complete assessments and screeners for all children 0 to 6 in Pediatric Clinic.
- Provide ongoing IECMH training, technical assistance, and consultation to Clinic professionals.
- Based on symptoms/concerns raised by caregivers and families of children serviced by SLP, as well as due to elevated screeners, support providers, staff, and families to be able to make referrals for clinical IECMH community -services.
- Become familiar with child-serving systems and continuously assess IECMH needs related to specific systems.
- Complete monthly statistics, attendance, and documentation of services provided in platforms, such as pediatric EMR system, Comet, Office 365 Suite, Connections, etc.
- Assist with proposals and funder related reports as necessary.
- Function as an ambassador and representative for the Mary Ellen Institute and Agency in the community.
- Perform all administrative tasks related to the position which will include responding promptly to email communication, meeting project deadlines, and arrive prepared for all work.
- Collaborate with and maintain working relationships with community agencies as an advocate for the program, for quality services, and for children and families.
- Actively participate in all levels of individual and group supervision.
- Attend all mandatory trainings as well as program and community meetings.
- Uses both in person and virtual platforms for and related tools, technology, materials, and equipment for successful delivery of services.
- Adherence to professional and ethical standards required, including ethical principles related to client interaction.

- A demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed care.
- Skillsets to comfortably navigate various technology platforms and software including but not limited to: Zoom, Office 365, Power Point, Canva, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Senior IECMH Consultant, Director of Clinical & Reflective Practices, and/or Leadership Team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed mental health practitioner (LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LCAT).
- Endorsed through the New York State Association of Infant Mental Health (NYS-AIMH), or Endorsed within 12 months of hire, and Endorsement maintained
- Trained and competent in the use of the DC:0–5™ Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood.
- Maintain all other relevant credentials, licenses, and professional affiliations specific to employee’s education and scope of practice (e.g., Licensed Mental Health Counselor; Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, etc.).
- Experience in the impact of trauma on infants and young children, loss, attachment disruptions, child welfare, and parent-child relationship assessment.
- Interest, passion and/or experience in working with infants and young children 0 to 6 years old from an IECMH perspective is required.
- Familiarity with researching and utilizing assessment and screening tools focused on the development of children ages 0-6 and their caregivers.
- Demonstrates high reflective capacity and practice, values relationship-based, trauma informed service provision with cultural humility and responsiveness.
