JOB TITLE: WIC Nutritionist
REPORTS TO: WIC Senior Nutritionist
STATUS: Full Time, Non-exempt 40 hours per week
SALARY: $21.47 – $22.93/hour
JOB SUMMARY:
WIC Nutritionist performs health and nutrition assessments of WIC applicants. Identifies and documents risk factors according to program requirements. Provides nutrition and health counseling based on participant need. Makes appropriate referrals to health and human service agencies. Travel throughout five county area required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) or
· Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Nutrition from an accredited college/university or
· Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or
· Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR) or
· Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate health-related field from an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours in nutrition
· Strong assessment skills in health and general nutrition
· Must demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
· Have an understanding of cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people
· Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times
· Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinic environment and be willing and able to work several evenings per month
· Advancing professional knowledge and skills by attending relevant workshops and seminars
· A demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work and delivering services with a trauma-informed and equitable lens
· Valid NYS Driver License

Candidate will be required to successfully complete the Agency Confidentiality Agreement, required Background Check, and State Central Register Clearance. The Candidate must possess a valid NYS driver’s license with a good driving record and carry agency required levels of automobile liability insurance.
