Christa and her husband recently celebrated 10 years of marriage. For 7 of those 10 years, her husband was in school. As they fought through challenging times to keep their heads above water in a struggling economy, they were blessed with 4 children – now ranging from 9 months to 7 years of age.
The family decided to take advantage of SPCC’s Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program to help supplement their modest income and meet their growing needs. The SPCC WIC program has been an asset to Christa and her family, allowing them to rest in the knowledge that no matter how difficult things get, their nutritional basics will be covered – milk, cheese, eggs, bread. They are also grateful for the fresh produce and farmers market checks provided through this program that allows them to purchase a variety of fruits and vegetables.
